In Plateau State, a hyena that had escaped from the Jos Wildlife Park has been found alive and safely returned to its enclosure.
The animal’s escape had initially caused widespread concern among local residents.

On Tuesday, the management of the Plateau State Tourism Corporation, led by Chuwang Pwajok, issued a statement announcing the successful recovery of the hyena. After an intensive search, the animal was tranquillized and captured.

“The Management of Plateau State Tourism Corporation would like to inform the general public that after relentless search and rescue efforts, the missing hyena has finally been found, tranquilized, captured, and safely returned to its enclosure,” the statement read.

The management also expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation during the search efforts. Their calmness and assistance were crucial in the successful recovery of the hyena.

Platinumpost reported that the hyena had escaped from its confinement at the Jos Wildlife Park within the Dong Community in Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday. The escape had led to panic among residents of Dong and nearby communities over the past two days.
