A devastating plane crash occurred on the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, resulting in the loss of all 62 lives on board.
The Voepass airline plane, carrying 58 passengers and four crew members, crashed into multiple houses, causing great damage to at least one residence. Fortunately, no residents were injured in the accident.
Eyewitness footage on social media captured the harrowing moment the plane lost balance and spiraled down, crashing into the nearby houses.
The aftermath of the crash saw the aircraft engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing into the air.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the airline has yet to release an official statement.
President Luiz Lula da Silva, who described the news as “very sad”, extended his condolences and solidarity to the families and friends of the victims.
It was said that the Brazilian Air Force has dispatched a team of investigators to the site to begin the process of determining the cause of the crash.
