Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has conceded defeat in Ghana’s 2024 elections, extending his congratulations to former President John Mahama.
In a speech delivered on Sunday, Mr. Bawumia announced that his party’s internal data suggests the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has emerged victorious in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Although the nationwide presidential election took place on Saturday, the Electoral Commission of Ghana has not yet released the official results.
