An official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), identified as Sylvanus, was discovered lifeless on a street in Lagos State, sparking widespread concern and speculation.

In a viral video circulating online, the deceased, dressed in burgundy traditional attire, was seen lying on the road, surrounded by onlookers, including two police officers.

The officers searched a small bag he was carrying in an attempt to identify him.

Upon finding his identity card, it was confirmed that Sylvanus was an EFCC official. However, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

“Where e dey work, nah EFCC. His ID card dey there,” voices, including a policeman, said in the video.

While circumstances surrounding his death remains unclear, the EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale said the supposed commission’s officers’ death is being investigated

Oyewale said, “The death is being investigated.”

The death of this particular officer comes barely two weeks after Aminu Salisu, an official of the EFCC was gunned down by during the commissions raid in Awka, the capital city of Anambra state.
