In a profound act of compassion and legacy, When In Need (WIN) Foundation, a U.S.-based non-governmental organization led by Princess Dr. Chetachi Ecton Nwoga, provided free medical services to infants and children in Garki, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The outreach, held on July 5, 2025, focused on children aged zero to 12 years and was designed to bridge the healthcare gap for vulnerable families. It offered vaccinations, health screenings, and treatments for common childhood illnesses—all aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of children regardless of their socio-economic status.
The event was held at Garki Primary School, and drew a significant community turnout. The Emir of Garki, HRH Usman Nga Kupi, served as the chief host, with other dignitaries including HRM Igwe Samuel Asadu of Enugu State in attendance.
Speaking at the outreach, an emotionally moved Dr. Chetachi Ecton shared that the initiative was organized in honour of her late mother, Ezinne Priscilla Nwogu.
> “In the spirit of my mother’s legacy—of kindness, healing, and dignity for every soul—I have chosen to turn pain into purpose,” Dr. Ecton said.
“This is not just an outreach. It is a movement of healing. A call to compassion. An invitation for all of us to stand in the gap for the weak, the vulnerable, and the brokenhearted—just as my mother did, quietly but powerfully, in her lifetime.”
She described her mother as a prayer warrior, first teacher, cheerleader, and lifelong comforter, adding:
“She was the foundation of all I have built. The moral compass that guided my passion for service and compassion.”
The event brought together medical professionals, caregivers, volunteers, and community members, all united in the mission to serve. It marked not only a day of free healthcare, but also a tribute to a life of selfless love and service.
As the WIN Foundation continues to impact lives across communities, this outreach in Abuja stands as a heartfelt reminder that one woman’s legacy of love can ignite a movement of mercy.
