On August 9th, Gage Park in Brampton burst into color, rhythm, and flavor as the Flavours of Nigeria Festival returned for its second edition, an exhilarating showcase of Nigeria’s cultural heritage and tourism promise.

Festival Convener Mr. Chukwuebuka Anyaduba opened the day with a heartfelt welcome, stressing that the festival’s vision is “to promote cultural diversity and export Nigeria’s tourism and culture to the world.” More than a culinary gathering, Flavours of Nigeria brought together food, music, fashion, art, and craftsmanship in a full cultural journey.

This year’s theme, “A Cultural Voyage,” paid tribute to the historic Benin Culture of Edo State. The day’s entertainment featured the Afrikan Peach Cultural Group, Ugandan Cultural Troupe, Bepraise Sax, Shemilore, and other acts that kept the crowd dancing. One of the most unforgettable moments came with the majestic arrival of the Ike ka Ike masquerade from Nigeria its grandeur and artistry captivating all in attendance.

Food lovers enjoyed authentic Nigerian cuisine prepared by expert vendors, while fashion designers, artists, and craft exhibitors offered a visual feast of creativity. The event drew hundreds of Nigerians, Caribbeans, Canadians, and visitors from other African nations, all united in celebration.
The Nigerian High Commission in Canada was officially represented by Charge de Affairs Ambassador Abba Zanna-Kawu, and other distinguished guests included:

Closing remarks from Co-Convener Amb. Akin Oduntan expressed deep appreciation to attendees, performers, and partners for making the festival an overwhelming success.
