The African Union Youth Council/Clubs (AUYC) Nigeria chapter, said it is set to host 'The 2025 African Youth Diplomatic Conference and Induction of African Youth Ambassadors', on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Asokoro, Abuja.
Our reporter gathered that the event promises to be a pivotal moment in empowering young Africans to shape the continent's future through diplomacy.
With the theme: "Empowering Youth Voices in African Diplomacy," the conference also aims to amplify the voices of young leaders in discussions on key diplomatic issues affecting Africa's development.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, the AUYC President, Dr. Temisan O. Louis, explained that the conference key objectives include: providing a platform for young leaders to engage in discussions on key diplomatic issues affecting Africa's development.
Temisan added that the conference key objective also includes, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate modern diplomatic practices and international relations.
Other objectives, according to him, are, inducting a new cohort of AUYC Ambassadors who would serve as change agents in their communities, states, and regions, as well as facilitating connections between youth leaders, diplomats, policymakers, and international organisations to foster collaboration and partnerships.
He pointed out that the event dedicated to amplifying the voices of African youth in continental development and diplomacy, would feature keynote speeches from renowned diplomats and leaders, including Hon. Ayodele Olawande(Honorable Minister Youth Development Federal Republic of Nigeria), Prof. Tunji Asaolu Secretary General United World Congress Of Diplomats, High Chief Mike Ekayama Loyibo, Esq Principal Partner M.E Loyibo & Co, Prof Chris Imumolen, Haj Dr. Umma A. Getso, and Prof. Eze Chidi Nwauba, Prof. Hephzibah Ebi Suobo, and Hon. Ali Kotoko.
Topics of discussion, according to him, would include, Youth Diplomacy and Leadership in Africa, Conflict Resolution and Peace building, Economic Diplomacy and Sustainable Development, Digital Diplomacy and Innovation, and Cultural Diplomacy and African Identity.
Expected outcomes of the conference include, a cohort of trained and inducted AUYC Ambassadors, a communique outlining key recommendations for youth inclusion in diplomatic processes, partnerships between youth organizations and diplomatic missions, and enhanced capacity of participants in diplomatic practices and leadership.
Temisan added that the event aligns with the AU's Agenda 2063 and the Youth Strategy, positioning young Africans as key drivers of change and development.
