American woman dies during visit to companion in Warri

 A 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, has passed away in Warri, Delta State, while visiting her Nigerian companion.

Elton reportedly arrived in Warri on September 15 to spend time with her friend, Alawode Olaide, 39.

However, tragedy struck on September 29 around 3:00 p.m. when she suddenly fell ill. She was first taken to a private hospital in Otokutu before being referred to the Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Authorities have since been notified, and Olaide has been taken into custody for questioning as part of the investigation. Her remains have been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.

Police sources confirmed that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding her sudden death.
