Operations were disrupted on Thursday at the Polaris Bank branch in Amenyi, Awka, Anambra State, after burglars broke into the premises and made away with an undisclosed sum of money.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident came to light when the branch manager arrived around 7:30 a.m. to begin the day’s activities.

On getting to the office, she reportedly discovered that the banking hall, offices, and vault had been forcefully accessed and left in disarray, with cash missing from the strong room.

The situation has sparked unease among both customers and staff, as the bank is yet to reveal the exact amount stolen.

According to sources close to the organisation, efforts are underway to unravel how the break-in occurred, even as internal checks continue. Police have also been called in to investigate the case.
