The Nigerian currency, Naira,  ended the week on a positive trajectory Friday, settling at N1,487.89 to the Dollar in the official market.

Figures released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) show the currency appreciated by N11.08 or 0.7 per cent compared to Thursday’s close of N1,498.97.

The local currency had also kicked off the week strong on Monday, adding N4.03 against the Dollar.

It, however, slipped slightly over the next three sessions, trading at N1,484.13 on Tuesday, N1,494.01 on Wednesday, and N1,498.97 on Thursday.

Market watchers have praised the consistent recovery, linking the trend to CBN’s policy measures designed to ease pressure on the Naira.

Members of CBN’s Monetary Policy Committee had predicted continued appreciation of Naira in their personal statements during the 301st MPC meeting in July 2025.
