Resident doctors in the Federal Capital Territory on Monday began a seven-day warning strike.

The action was made public in a communiqué endorsed by the association’s president, George Ebong, along with members of the executive committee.

According to the doctors, the health sector in the FCT has been undermined by deep-rooted structural challenges that require immediate and comprehensive intervention.

Ebong explained that doctors in the territory are being pushed to their limits, often forced to handle responsibilities across multiple departments at once.
