A two-storey building caved in during the early hours of Monday at No. 54 Cole Street, near the Cemetery bus stop by UBA Bank in Oyingbo, Lagos.

According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), a distress call was received at 12:20 a.m., prompting an immediate response from the Sari Iganmu Fire Station. Rescue teams arrived at the scene by 12:29 a.m. to begin emergency operations.

Margaret Adeseye, Controller General of the LSFRS, confirmed that 15 people had been pulled out alive.

“The rescued include seven adult males, four adult females, and four children, all sustaining various injuries,” she said.
