The 5th edition of the Southwest Investment Summit and Advancement Award (SWISAA) 2025 was successfully held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, bringing together policymakers, investors, industry captains, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from across Nigeria.
Organized by ASO Multi Media in partnership with the Bank of Industry (BOI) and BAT Vanguard, this year’s summit was themed “Southwest Forward: Harnessing Investment, Talent and Technology.” The event focused on unlocking new frontiers of economic growth and sustainable development within the Southwest region through innovation, industrialization, and strategic collaboration.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Desmond Femi Agboola, CEO of ASO Multi Media and Convener of the Southwest Investment Summit and Advancement Award, underscored the significance of uniting the region’s creative minds, investors, and policymakers toward a shared vision of progress. “The Southwest remains a vital engine of Nigeria’s economy. Through platforms like this, we are bridging ideas, innovation, and investment to drive inclusive and sustainable development,” said Amb. Agboola. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director/CEO of the Bank of Industry, who was ably represented by Mr. Rotimi Akinde, Executive Director, Bank of Industry. His address emphasized the Bank’s continued commitment to supporting enterprises, startups, and industrial transformation within the Southwest region. The Bank of Industry remains a steadfast partner in empowering Nigerian businesses, promoting industrialization, and ensuring that investment translates into tangible socio-economic impact,” Mr. Akinde stated on behalf of Dr. Olusi. The summit featured insightful panel sessions, networking opportunities, exhibitions, and the Advancement Award Ceremony, which recognized distinguished personalities and institutions for their outstanding contributions to regional development, innovation, and business excellence. Stakeholders and delegates commended the event for fostering meaningful dialogue, facilitating partnerships, and reaffirming the Southwest’s position as a hub of innovation and opportunity. As the 5th edition concluded on a successful note, the organizers pledged continued collaboration with public and private sector partners to advance investment-driven development in the region.
