The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has has approved the posting of Mohammed Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the police authorities confirmed that Dankwara takes over from DIG Sahabo Yahaya, who recently bowed out of service after more than 30 years of “distinguished and meritorious” service.

“Prior to his elevation, DIG Dankwara served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

“IGP Egbetokun, while congratulating the senior officer on his new appointment, expressed confidence in his capacity to bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the administrative functions of the Nigeria Police Force.

“The posting is in line with the IGP’s commitment to repositioning the Force for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement said.
