The Sokoto State Police Command has taken into custody three individuals accused of providing financial and intelligence support to armed bandit groups, among them Ruwa Ginyo, the Fulani community leader of Gidan-Madi in Tangaza Local Government Area.
Security analyst Zagozola Makama reported that the trio, believed to be intermediaries for the Lakurawa bandits, were arrested on December 3, 2025, around 2 p.m. while attempting to dispose of four cattle suspected to have been rustled.
Preliminary questioning indicated that the suspects allegedly coordinated the sale of stolen livestock and forwarded the proceeds to the criminal group.
“All suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime, and investigations are ongoing to track further links and recover additional stolen property,” the report noted
