As the year gradually comes to an end, civil servants in Nasarawa State are set to receive 50 per cent of their salaries as an end-of-year bonus, with payment set to commence on December 27.
The Accountant-General of Nasarawa state, Dr Musa Mohammed, made this known in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Lafia.
According to Mohammed, the directive for the payment was given by Gov. Abdullahi Sule while addressing workers during the recent 2025 Civil Service Week celebration held in the state.
He noted that the end-of-year bonus payment marked the first time such a gesture was being extended to civil servants in the history of Nasarawa State.
“The gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state and citizens in general.
”It is a clear demonstration of the governor’s appreciation for workers’ dedication, resilience, and service to the state throughout the year,” Mohammed said.
The accountant-general explained that the bonus would be paid separately from the December 2025 salaries, noting that the arrangement was in line with proper accounting procedures and for administrative convenience.
Mohammed expressed confidence that civil servants would respond positively to the gesture by rededicating themselves to their official duties.
