Plans have been concluded for the most anticipated 2025 edition of the National Legacy Lecture and Nigeria Heroes Awards, scheduled to hold today, Thursday December 18, 2025, in Abuja.
Themed, “Strengthening Integrity, Leadership, and National Prosperity”, the lecture will be delivered by the Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal, Hon. Justice Mainasara Umar Ibrahim Kogo.
The event will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, and is expected to bring together policymakers, thought leaders, civil society actors, youths, and distinguished Nigerians from across the country.
The National Legacy Lecture & Nigeria Heroes Awards 2025 serves as a platform to honour leadership, patriotism, and service to humanity. It serves as a bridge between the heroes of the past, the stewards of present, and the visionaries shaping the future, organisers say.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Convener of the National Legacy Lecture and Nigeria Heroes Awards, Dr. Chris Oko Odey added that the programme was designed to celebrate Nigerians who have made outstanding contributions to nation-building while also stimulating conversations around leadership, values, and national development.
“The National Legacy Lecture is not just an award ceremony, it is a platform for deep reflection on the kind of nation we are building and the values we must uphold to secure a better future for coming generations,” he said.
The 2025 lecture will focus on integrity a key virtue to deepen good governance, transparency, accountability, and sustainable development.
Conceived to honour men and women whose dedication and contributions have strengthened the moral and institutional foundations of the nation, the National Legacy Lecture & Nigeria Heroes Awards highlights the enduring values of integrity, sacrifice, and nation-building.
