The naira closed the trading week on a positive note on Friday, appreciating further against the U.S. dollar at the official market to trade at N1,417.94.
Data released on the official website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the local currency gained N1.33 on the day.
This represents a 0.09 per cent improvement compared with Thursday, when it exchanged at N1,419.28 to the dollar.
The naira, which has remained relatively stable following recent CBN reforms, recorded gains across most of the week.
On Monday and Tuesday, it traded at N1,421.45 and N1,419.65 respectively, reflecting a combined gain of N1.79.
The local currency had opened the trading week on Monday with a gain of N1.70.
However, it recorded a slight loss of 37 kobo on Wednesday, when it traded at N1,420.03.
The naira rebounded on Thursday with a gain of 75 kobo before closing the week stronger on Friday.
