Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended the sixth individual linked to the 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State, sources confirmed on Wednesday morning.

The assault claimed the lives of more than 40 worshippers and left many others injured.

The DSS is currently prosecuting five suspects — Idris Omeiza (25), Al Qasim Idris (20), Jamiu Abdulmalik (26), Abdulhaleem Idris (25), and Momoh Otuho Abubakar (47) — over alleged terrorism offences.

The sixth suspect, identified as Sani Yusuf, had reportedly evaded arrest for nearly four years, becoming one of the country’s most wanted fugitives.

According to a security source, DSS operatives tracked and arrested Yusuf in Iguosa community, along Powerline in Ovia North Local Government Area of Edo State.
