President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of tenure for three Permanent Secretaries serving in the Federal Civil Service.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Eno Olotu.
The officials whose tenures were renewed are Ms Kachallom Daju, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice; and Dr Mary Ogbe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Development.
Olotu explained that the renewal will take effect from April 27, 2026, noting that it represents the second and final four-year term for the officials in accordance with Public Service Rule (PSR) 020909.
“The rule permits Permanent Secretaries an initial four-year term, with eligibility for a further four-year tenure subject to satisfactory performance,” she said.
Reacting to the development, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, congratulated the three officials on their renewed appointments.
Walson-Jack urged them to treat the extension of their tenure as an opportunity to deepen their commitment and pursue excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities.
She also encouraged them to deploy their experiences and professional expertise in the effective discharge of their duties for the benefit of the nation
