Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) headquarters was buzzing with excitement yesterday as Amb. Chief Haruna Ibrahim Dangana, popularly known as The Jakadan Kurama, officially stepped into his golden jubilee.
It was a milestone marked by simplicity and deep-seated camaraderie as Dangana, a respected figure within the regulatory authority and aviation sector, chose to spend the early hours of his 50th birthday cutting his cake with the very people he works with every day.
The office atmosphere was filled with warmth and laughter, serving as a testament to the high regard in which his colleagues hold him.
This office celebration was just the beginning of what has become a nationwide wave of accolades for a man whose influence spans from the corridors of the aviation industry to the traditional heartlands of Northern Nigeria.
Amb. Dangana is a man who wears many hats, most notably as Board of Trustees (BOT) Member/Assistant General Secretary of 36pals Development Initiative , an elite group known for its philanthropic spirit and commitment to mutual support. He is also an Airport facilitation expert and a former airline station manager for years.
His birthday has triggered a flood of felicitations from across the country, with friends and associates praising his leadership and his recent traditional elevation.
Not long ago, his community in the North honored his contributions by turbaning him with the title of *Jakadan Kurama*, by "HRH Yakubu IIiya Sauri, The Bugwam-Kurmi III", a role that further solidifies his standing as a bridge-builder between modern administrative excellence and rich cultural heritage.
This blend of professional discipline and traditional duty has made him a standout figure, earning him respect that transcends his immediate workspace.
While the cakes and office cheers provided a perfect start on April 29th, the real fireworks are reserved for the upcoming weekend.
The social calendar in Abuja is already vibrating with anticipation for the main event scheduled for May 2nd.
The celebration will shift to the Banquet Hall of the Presken Hotel—formerly the iconic Grand Cubana Hotel—in Jabi.
Expected to be a star-studded affair, the exclusive 50 and Fly party will see the elite of the 36 Pals Social Club, NCAA top brass, Arik Air, other airlines workers across, church and family members come together to toast to a life of excellence.
With a strict Black, White, and Gold dress code, the night promises to be a fitting tribute to a man who has spent half a century lifting others while reaching the pinnacle of his own career.
