INC Swearing-In: New President Fulfills Distribute Buses to zones Pledge during campaign , Calls for Ijaw Unity
The Ijaw National Congress kicked off a new chapter today as High Chief (Barr) Macdonald Igbadiwei took the oath of office as National President and immediately delivered on a key campaign promise.

In a crowd-pleasing move right after his inauguration, Igbadiwei presented brand-new buses to representatives of INC zones and chapters across the country. “The distribution of buses as part of his campaign promises,” according to TVAFRICA24 Reporter mr Barakumo Solomon Odede adelegate noted, describing the gesture as proof that the new leadership intends to hit the ground running.
Addressing dignitaries, traditional rulers, and delegates gathered for the ceremony, the new president said the buses were meant to boost mobility and make coordination between zones smoother and faster.

Beyond logistics, Igbadiwei struck a unifying tone. “He also spoke on unity,” adding that the president pledged to run an inclusive administration. “He said he will ensure all agrieved persons will be reached out because his Government is for every Ijaw,” added.
The inauguration drew a large turnout and was marked by tight security and festive celebrations. Delegates said improved logistics would strengthen grassroots engagement and mobilization, while the president’s message of inclusivity set an early tone for his tenure.
With the oath sworn and the first promise delivered, all eyes are now on Igbadiwei’s administration as it prepares to roll out its broader policy agenda in the weeks ahead.
