Nouvelle Perspective Led by Hon. Okolo Makes List of 98 Accredited Observers for Ekiti Governorship Election

Notable election observation Group, Nouvelle Perspective has been accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside 97 other organizations to observe the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti.

It made the list of observers published on its website by the electoral body, the INEC, making Nouvelle Perspective ready to participate in the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.

It was accredited along with the AUDA‑NEPAD Nigeria as the only two foreign observers, while the rest 96, including Yiaga Africa, CLEEN Foundation, Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Women Trust Fund, and the Centre for Democracy and Development West Africa and others are local observers.

Led by its Nigerian Coordinator, Hon. Jim Chimezie Okolo, Nouvelle Perspective team members are expected to take part in the sensitisation workshops organised by INEC ahead of the governorship election.

Nouvelle Perspective has for years assisted in the discourse to strengthen democracy across Africa and world in general.

One of the high profile elections it took part in was the 2024 election which produced Donald Trump as the President of the United States.

It also observed the Namibia's election last year which produced Gideon Boko as the winner.

Nouvelle Perspective also has observed off-season elections in Nigeria in recent times, including Rivers State local government election as well as Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly elections. It also observed the Anambra governorship election that produced Chukwuma Soludo as governor for a second term.

Not long ago, Hon. Okolo was inducted as an implementation partner for the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Directorate of Peace Support Operations, joining other prominent Nigerians to be decorated as members of the NAF Global Peace Implementing Partners (IPs).
