INC President MacDonald Igbadiwei Attends Inauguration of IYC 10th National Executive Council, Charges Youths on Unity

YENAGOA, BAYELSA STATE – President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei, joined eminent Ijaw leaders, traditional rulers, political stakeholders and youths from across the Niger Delta at the inauguration of the 10th National Executive Council of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide in Yenagoa.

The presence of the INC President at the colourful ceremony underscored the enduring partnership between the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Ijaw nation and its foremost youth body, as a new generation of leaders formally assumed office to pilot the affairs of the IYC.

Addressing participants, Igbadiwei emphasized the need for unity, discipline and purposeful leadership among Ijaw youths, urging the newly inaugurated executives to remain committed to protecting the collective interests of the Ijaw nation through peaceful engagement, constructive dialogue and responsible advocacy.

He described the inauguration as another milestone in strengthening the Ijaw struggle, noting that the youth remain the backbone of the nation's future. He encouraged the new leadership to work closely with the Ijaw National Congress and other stakeholders in promoting peace, development and sustainable progress across Ijaw communities.

The event attracted prominent personalities from across the Niger Delta, including political leaders, traditional rulers, elder statesmen and youth representatives, who pledged their support for the newly inaugurated IYC leadership.

The attendance of High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei comes barely months after he was inaugurated as President of the Ijaw National Congress, reaffirming his commitment to fostering collaboration between the INC and the IYC for the advancement of the Ijaw people.
