Abuja, Nigeria – A massive real estate fraud scandal has rocked the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), exposing the notorious activities of a developer, Barrister Pastor Isaac Adams, and his company, Light Gold Limited. Following a five-year legal battle, a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Apo, Abuja, has granted a decisive order for the recovery of property from the fraudulent developer, who is currently on the run.
The court order, dated February 10, 2026, and obtained by this publication, reveals a disturbing pattern of breach of trust, double allocations, and fraudulent sales orchestrated by Barr. Adams, who is also a pastor and a failed Nasarawa State governorship aspirant.
The Genesis of the Fraud
The nightmare began when Mr. Patrick Anyaene, the Judgment Creditor, entered into a joint venture agreement with Barr. Isaac Adams of Light Gold Limited to develop a property known as Plot No. 605, Durumi District, Cadastral Zone 085, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to court documents, Barr. Adams allegedly breached every single clause of the agreement. Rather than fulfilling his contractual obligations, he embarked on a spree of fraudulent activities. Sources close to the case reveal that he sold off the properties meant for the joint venture, sold his own properties, and allegedly stole the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) documents to perpetuate fraud across Abuja.
The developer’s modus operandi included collecting money from unsuspecting tenants, double and triple allocating properties, and selling properties that had already been sold to other buyers. This reckless and corrupt practice has left a trail of devastation, with over 25 families rendered homeless and countless investors defrauded of their life savings.
The Court Order and Eviction
After years of legal maneuvering, the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, presided over by Hon. Justice A.O. Otaluka, delivered a landmark ruling. The court granted leave to the Claimant/Judgment Creditor to enter and take possession of the immovable property at Plot No. 605, Durumi District.
The order, which this newspaper has obtained, explicitly states:
1. Leave is granted to the Judgment Creditor to enter and take possession of the property.
2. An order is made directing the Judgment Debtor to render account in line with the consent judgment.
3. An order is made directing the issuance of a Writ of Possession.
4. An order is made directing the Sheriff to take possession of the property.
Armed with this valid court order, the Judgment Creditor, accompanied by a combined team of over 35 police officers, 15 Civil Defence officers, 10 military personnel, four DSS officers, and about 60 laborers, moved to the site yesterday to enforce the judgment. The operation was successful, leading to the simultaneous eviction of occupants and the recovery of the property.
The Fugitive Developer
While the Judgment Creditor has reclaimed his property, Barr. Isaac Adams remains at large. Multiple arrest warrants have been issued for his arrest, but the self-styled pastor has gone into hiding, avoiding law enforcement agencies. His whereabouts remain unknown, and he is believed to be evading arrest for his role in the massive fraud.
Barr. Adams, who also runs a church, has been described by victims as a "wicked, deceitful, and fraudulent" individual who uses his position as a pastor to gain the trust of unsuspecting victims before defrauding them.
A Warning to Abuja Developers
This case has highlighted the urgent need for a regulatory council to oversee the activities of real estate developers in Abuja. The lack of regulation has allowed unscrupulous elements like Barr. Adams to operate with impunity, causing untold hardship to innocent citizens.
"I want to use this medium to warn all these Abuja developers that constantly cheat people, do double allocations, and engage in fraudulent practices in the name of real estate. It has to stop," said Mr. Anyaene, the Judgment Creditor, in an exclusive interview. "What I've experienced for the past five years has been nothing but hell. But I'm glad it's finally over. We have taken back what is ours."
