President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, as he continues his three-week annual leave in Europe.
Officials close to the President confirmed his arrival on Sunday, while visuals released from the trip showed him being received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
Tinubu had left Abuja on August 30, 2026, for the vacation, with London serving as the first destination before his onward journey to Paris for the second phase of his holiday.
The President’s three-week leave was announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave.’
According to the statement, Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja at the end of the vacation and join preparations for the January 2027 general election.
His departure came shortly after the All Progressives Congress released its Presidential Campaign Council list, which identified Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as chairman and vice chairman respectively.
Paris remains one of the destinations most frequently visited by the President since he assumed office in May 2023.
Available records show that Tinubu has visited the French capital at least 13 times since taking office, spending more than 50 days there during official, working and private engagements.
A tally of his foreign engagements also indicates that the President has spent more than 270 days outside Nigeria, visiting at least 30 countries across 51 unique and repeat trips.
The trips have covered approximately 260,000 nautical miles, with Tinubu recording more than 400 hours of flight time.
