Leke Joseph Abejide is set to launch a political support organisation in Kano State, with a target of mobilising 1.5 million votes among non-indigene residents for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The organisation, known as Asiwaju Kano for Asiwaju Jagaban (AKA), will also inaugurate coordinators across the 44 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to establish a grassroots mobilisation network ahead of the general elections.

The grand launch and inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Hilton Palace Congress Hall, Kano, beginning at 10am.

A statement signed by the State Coordinator of AKA, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola, on Wednesday, said the inauguration would mark the beginning of a new organisational phase for the movement.

According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to provide an organised platform for supporters of President Tinubu and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in Kano State.

The group said its mobilisation target was 1.5 million votes among non-indigene residents of the state, describing the initiative as part of its broader strategy to strengthen political support for the President ahead of the 2027 elections.

Under the leadership of Abejide, AKA plans to establish a coordinated statewide structure with clearly defined responsibilities, administrative arrangements and regular reporting mechanisms across the 44 local government areas.

The inauguration ceremony will feature the presentation of appointment certificates to the coordinators, administration of an oath of commitment and formal introduction of the local government representatives.

The statement further stated that goodwill messages from invited dignitaries and political stakeholders are also expected at the event.

The organisers said the initiative would prioritise structured leadership, accountability and community engagement, while promoting peaceful participation in the democratic process.

The launch, which will be held under the theme, “One Vision. One Mission. One Asiwaju,” is expected to attract community representatives, APC officials and other political stakeholders from across the state.
