Following the constant disruption of electricity and breakdown of transformer in and around Nkwo Nnewi Triangle, Anambra State government has donated a 500KVA transformer to solve the electricity challenges of the area.

The transformer which was mounted at Diocesan Church Center, St. Andrews Anglican Church, Nkwo Nnewi, was handed over to the Vicar of the Church, Ven. Christian Okechukwu Emeribe.

Speaking during the brief handover ceremony, the Governor who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Implementation, Hon. Sir Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu, said that the transformer was donated to the area (Nkwo Nnewi) following the outcry of residents of the area due to the constant disruption of electricity supply.

According to him, the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, directed that a new transformer should be installed in the area to bring an end to the issue of electricity supply in the area.

He urged the residents of the area especially the church to jealously guard the equipment to avoid hoodlums taking advantage of the facility, he assured the state government will continue to better the lives of Anambrians.

Speaking also, the Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nnewi North, Hon. Chike Agwucha commended the governor for responding to the outcry of residents of the area, noting that the party will continue to put smiles on the faces of the populace.

Thanking the Governor, the Archdeacon of Diocesan Church Center (DCC), Archdeaconry and Vicar of St. Andrews Anglican Church, Nkwo Nnewi, said that the Governor has shown that he is responsive to the plight of the people, he prayed for more wisdom and God's blessing on the Governor.
