The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of National Inland Waterways Authority, Chief George Moghalu has announced more palliative measures for vulnerable citizens who might be affected by the ongoing 14-day lockdown by the state government acting in guidance from the nationwide directive on skeletal activities to curb the further spread of the dreaded Corona virus disease.

Chief Moghalu, the Ohamadike of Nnewi, who was ably represented by Reverend Ibeabuchi, the Director of Zimuzo Foundation, reinterated on his readiness to ameliorate the difficulty encountered by people whose regular business has been affected by the restriction order imposed to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

While noting that preventive measures are more important than curative ones, hence; his decision to nip in the bud, any loophole that will expose the citizenry to the pandemic.

The Nnewi born philanthropist explained that his intervention is without any political undertone, as his mantra remains "humanity first".

We should recall, that palliative measures rolled out by the NIWA top boss started in Nnewi in Anambra South and has now  reached the other senatorial districts of the state.

A recent review and feedback of the process for distribution of stimulus package indicate that the initiative is impacting positively on the lives of beneficiaries who are now gifted with sanitizers, soaps, buckets and several food items to ease the hiccups associated with the lock-down.

So far, as at April 4th, 2020, the Zimuzo train has reached several domains, to the warm embrace of monarchs who are on the traditional stools of their fore-fathers.
As they prayed for the NIWA boss, Chief Moghalu, asking God Almighty to replenish his purse and grant him his good wishes.

The train is still on the move and poised to reach all sides of the state.
