The SSA to the Governor on Health Monitoring and Coordinator of the Delta State Health Monitoring Team, Dr. Michael Nwoko has stated that Delta State Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism of health care facilities across the State is novel, effective and germane to quality and efficient health care delivery to the people. 


Dr. Nwoko made this known while addressing the press shortly after the Health Monitoring Team carried out Monitoring and Evaluation visit to General Hospital, Koko on 4th May, 2021. 


" We are embarking on the 2021 monitoring rounds of health care facilities across the State which includes Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health care facilities with a view to monitoring, evaluating, reporting and conduct appraisal  in order to guarantee effective and efficient health care delivery to the people in line with the vision of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State". "I make bold to state that Gov. Okowa's Monitoring mechanism of health care facilities across the State is novel, effective and germane to quality and efficient health care delivery to the people". 



" His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta is a visionary leader who thought it wise to create the Health Monitoring Office which is the monitoring and evaluation mechanism of the State Government with the mandate to monitor, evaluate and report on the status of the health care facilities to His Excellency, the Governor, the State Ministry of Health and its agencies and Commission".


Shortly after the monitoring visit to General Hospital, Ozoro, Delta South Senatorial district, the ebullient SSA and Coordinator of the Delta State Health Monitoring Team elucidated that on it the main objectives of setting up the Health Monitoring Office which is to reawaken the professional practice among public health care givers and reinvigorate health care facilities across the State for a more functional and productive level is being achieved. 



Health care facilities visited on 4th May, 2021 are:


(1) General Hospital, Koko 


(2) Primary Health Care Centre, Koko 


(3) Primary Health Care Centre, Beach Koko 


(4) Primary Health Care Centre, Ajagbodudu


(5) General Hospital, Abigborodo 


(6) Primary Health Care Centre, Abigborodo


Facilities visited on 5th May 2021 are:


(1)  General Hospital, Ozoro


(2)  Primary Health Care Centre, Ozoro


(3) Primary Health Care Centre, Owhelogbo


(4) Government Hospital, Owhelogbo


(5) Government Hospital, Ofagbe


The Health Monitoring Team as part of its 2021 monitoring rounds had visited the following Health care facilities on the 1st of April, 2021 viz;


General Hospital Owa - Oyibo, Government Hospital Umunede, Government Hospital Owa - Alero,Primary Healthcare Centre, Owa - Oyibo,Primary Healthcare Centre Umunede.


Government Hospital, Orogun, Government Hospital Ehwere, Government Hospital Agbarho,Primary Healthcare Centre Orogun,Primary Healthcare Centre, Ewu. 


Other members of the Health Monitoring Team are;

Dr. Daniel Omodon 

Dr. Patrick Onwuachi, Dr. Kingsley Amaihunwa and Dr. Sam Efetobor.
