The founder HalimaFactor Initiative For Community Development, Halima Usman has called on Nigerians and residents in the country to make their health a priority even as they go about enjoying the festive period.

While underlying that health is the number one enabler of productivity, Usman who is also the chairman Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA Abuja chapter noted that keeping fit and looking good is a stepping stone to a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking from the North Eastern state of Gombe where she is currently observing her Christmas and New Year holidays after an activity-packed year, Usman who took her walk to the beautiful street of Gombe, along the popular Rainbow roundabout said keeping fit is of utmost importance to her.

"Today (Wednesday) is the 29th day of December 2021. And I'm here taking a walk on the street of Gombe.

"As usual, keeping fit is good business and looking good is good business. Keeping fit is of utmost importance to me.

"I'm taking a walk, enjoying the breeze and light from the beautiful and serene atmosphere of Gombe.

"I am at the street leading from Rainbow roundabout to the city centre. I'm taking my stroll together with my children and enjoying the evening.

"So enjoy the moment, catch some fun, but don't forget to stay healthy for maximum productivity.

"Take a walk, take a stroll and stay fit," she urged in a Facebook video on Wednesday.

The education advocate had earlier in the year engaged in series of activities in addition to her very tight official schedules.

One of such was the launch and public presentation of her five books in July in Abuja, the nation's capital, an event that witnessed the presence of high and mighty in the society.

Among those who graced the event are, Minister of Women Affairs, Paulin Tallen, Representative of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, immediate past Permanent Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Bitrus Bako Nabasu, Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, DG National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari, Mai Kaltungo Engr. Saleh Mohammad Umar OON and a host of others.

The books, predominantly children's stories are, Mallam Sidi, Fauziya Saves The Day, Mr Cockroach, The Big Aquarium, Emeka The Farmer, Kola & Lola and a motivational story, Against The Odds.

Also in the year, the dogged leader and public speaker expanded and renamed her annual Gombe Day Of Literature, an initiative of HalimaFactor Initiative For Community Development.

It's now rebranded North East Festival of Culture & Creativity.

This she said is borne out of the need to replicate the success story the annual literary event has achieved in Gombe in other states of the North East geopolitical zone.

The event which took place in November at the Multipurpose Hall of the Gombe State University also assembled top shots from across the country.

ANA Abuja under her leadership wrapped up the year with 81st posthumous birthday celebration in honour of late Gen. Mamman Vatsa, an author and Military General.

Tagged 'Remembering Gen. Mamman Jiya Vatsa: A Night of Literary Engagement & Posthumous Birthday' the event assembled friends and associates of the late FCT Minister who eulogised his selfless service to fatherland while he was alive.

It also coincided with ANAtainment, an annual end of year social engagement of ANA Abuja.
