Former Anambra State first lady, Ebelechukwu Obiano, Thursday, engaged in a fight with the wife of late Biafra leader, Dim Chukwuwmeka Ojukwu at the inauguration ceremony of Prof Charles Soludo as the new governor of Anambra state.

The incident occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office on Thursday at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra when the wife of outgoing Gov. Willie Obiano, Ebelechukwu were engaged in altercation Mrs Bianca Ojukwu at the event.

Dignitaries including Ex-Gov Obiano were already seated when Mrs Obiano who came late to the occasion was going round to greet the dignitaries. On getting to where Bianca sat, she said.

“Bianca so you are here, what are you doing here, I thought you said you will never attend any APGA event again, you bitch.”

Ojukwu’s wife who was provoked by that reckless remark stood up quickly and gave the former governor’s wife a resounding slap and dragged her wig off her head, prompting quick reaction from the protocol officers.

The action drew the attention of security agents and some personalities who pulled Mrs Obiano off the hold of Bianca who was visibly shocked at the action.

As Mrs Obiano was been taken away to her seat she again called Bianca "Ashawo" and shortly afterwards, her husband left the venue since the incident happened after the new governor had been sworn in.

Reacting through a statement, the State Governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo described the fight between former first lady, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano and wife of late Biafra hero, Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu as a breach of protocol.

The statement signed by the Head of Soludo Media, Joe C. Anatune, said the issue was caused by improper communication, which he said, arose from a personal issue between the two parties.

“Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo hereby apologizes to all Anambra people, friends and guests who attended his inauguration this morning as the Anambra State governor for the breach of protocol.

” The breach was caused by improper communication which itself arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved in the breach.

“Steps are being taken to resolve the misunderstanding and restore the parties to their previous relationship. Anambra State has over the years been known for a huge stock of social harmony, and the stock will increase substantially in the years ahead as part of the concerted effort to accelerate the state’s development,” the statement read.
