Rita Daniels, mother of Regina Daniels, wife of billionaire Ned Nwoko, has declared to run for the Delta State House of Assembly to represent Aniocha South state constituency.

The declaration was made weekend at the local government PDP secretariat with members of the PDP local government and ward executives who will form delegates for the primary election.

Rita Daniels who is the only woman in the race told the delegates that she has what it takes to represent the constituency at the State House of Assembly.

Daniels who is the vice president of Nollywood and the women leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, reeled out her programmes to the delegates, saying she is capable and fit to run and deliver the needed dividends to the constituency.

She assured of a transparent representation if she is given the mandate to represent the constituency in the state house of assembly.
She said with God on her party, she would win the election and ensure that all she has promised the constituency are executed within her period of stay in the house.

She said: “When we get there we will remember our people. Our children are in school but no chairs for them. Our youths have graduated but no jobs for them. This can lead to depression. We will change all this.

“I will not leave any stone unturned to get what belongs to Aniocha South. Some students do not go to school because they cannot afford WAEC enrolment fees. We can invite investors to Aniocha South to set up industries in the local government,”

She told the delegates that the she was one of the persons who championed the setting up of film village in Asaba. She said she has the contact and the reach to attract investors to the local government and transform the place for the good of the residents.

In his response, the party chairman in the local government, Prince Mike Okwufulueze, prayed for her, saying it shall be well with her and her aspiration to represent the constituency in the state house of assembly.

He told her that she will not regret neither will she see sorrow in her pursuit of her ambition. He told her that several aspirants from governorship to reps and other house of assembly aspirants have come to consult them.

He told her that her mission to represent the local government in the house shall not be aborted. He, however, told her that the aspirant who will represent the constituency must have the blessing of the governor, the party leaders and the delegates to the primaries.

He also said the primaries will be free and fair as every aspirant will be given equal opportunity, just as he said each delegate has one vote, hence she should go about her lobby as strategy to win the hearts of the delegates.

He advised the delegates to vote the right person and vote according to their conscience.
