Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has refuted claims that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his home in Kaduna and uncovered large sums of money in various currencies.

Rumours circulating alleged that EFCC operatives discovered $800 million, N700 billion in cash, and N1 trillion worth of drugs at his residence.

However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, Bello dismissed these allegations as baseless and a deliberate attempt to distract him from his public service responsibilities.

He clarified that he does not own a house in Kaduna, emphasizing that his family’s residence is located in Unguwar Sarki.

Bello stated: “My constituents that I represent know what would happen if I was blessed with such figures.

“For those sponsoring these ignorant attacks, I assure you that we will continue to serve the people, and we will continue to enjoy how it annoys them; adding quality, frank, and honest representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.”

He further criticized the use of fake news to mislead the public and create division, calling the allegations an unfounded attack on his integrity and a violation of the principles of justice and fairness.
