Abuja is set to come alive with colour, dance, food, and heritage as the Igbo Amaka Fest & Legacy Awards takes centre stage on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Space & Function Event Centre, City Park, Abuja.
This festival is a celebration of the rich culture and lifestyle of the Igbo people of South East Nigeria, and it promises to be an unforgettable day filled with pride, unity, and joy. It will bring together dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and lovers of African traditions from across the country.
Guests can look forward to breathtaking Atilogwu and Ogene dance displays, colourful masquerade processions, and a vibrant cultural fashion parade featuring the Isiagu, George wrappers, and other iconic Igbo attire.
One of the major highlights of the event is the Legacy Awards, an inspiring session that will honour hardworking and industrious Igbo sons and daughters in Abuja. Beyond recognising excellence, the awards are designed to create opportunities for networking with the right crowd, bringing together leaders in business, politics, culture, and entertainment.
Food lovers will be treated to a spread of Igbo delicacies, including ofe nsala, abacha, akidi, nkwobi, and fufu with ofe onugbu, all washed down with a refreshing palm wine tasting experience that recreates the warmth of an authentic village gathering.
The festival will also host an arts and crafts exhibition, where local artisans will showcase beautifully crafted beads, fabrics, wood carvings, and other indigenous works that tell the Igbo story of creativity and resilience.
Speaking ahead of the event, the organisers explained the vision behind the festival: “The Igbo people are known for their deep-rooted traditions, creativity, and industriousness. The Igbo Amaka Fest & Legacy Awards is more than entertainment — it is about preserving our heritage, celebrating our identity, and giving the next generation a reason to be proud of who they are.” They stated.
