Suspected bandits have reportedly killed eight members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Dan Lutu village, located in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, reported that the CJTF members were ambushed while responding to a distress call about an imminent attack by the bandits on residents of the community.

According to sources, the task force members confronted the heavily armed attackers in a fierce gun battle but were eventually overpowered.

Members of the local vigilante network confirmed that the bodies of the victims have been recovered, and arrangements are being made for their burial.
