Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has dismissed reports that United States airstrikes carried out in Sokoto State killed bandits, insisting that the operation caused no damage to criminal elements.

According to Asari, the airstrikes were ineffective, claiming that the missiles were dropped on vacant land and did not target any bandit camps.

He made the assertion in a video shared on X, where he reiterated that he harbours no fear of former United States President Donald Trump.

Asari further alleged that the operation involved the use of drones, describing the entire exercise as staged and lacking substance.

He challenged the Nigerian government to provide evidence that the airstrikes resulted in the death of at least one terrorist.

The former freedom fighter also argued that the United States could not deploy ground troops into Nigeria, stressing that the country remains a sovereign nation.

He said: “The US army strike in Sokoto did not harm any bandits. They only dropped bombs in an open field, endangering the lives of innocent people. Do you think I’m afraid of President Donald Trump?”
