The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly,  Jibril Ismail Falgore,and 21 other members of the legislature,have resigned their membership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP).

The lawmakers resigned their membership of the party alongside the State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The Assembly’s Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, released the list of the affected lawmakers in a statement released on Saturday evening.

According to the statement, those who left the NNPP with the governor include the Speaker of the House, Jibril Ismail Falgore, the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Bello Butu Butu, and the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussain.

Also listed are the Deputy Majority Leader, Garba Shehu Fammar, the Chief Whip, Muddasir Ibrahim Zawachiki, along with other lawmakers representing various constituencies across the state.

According to the statement,a total of 22 members of the House were involved in the exit, cutting across constituencies such as Ajingi, Albasu, Bagwai/Shanono, Bebeji, Bunkure, Dawakin Kudu, Fagge, Gabasawa, Garko, Gwale, Karaye, Kura/Garun Malam, Madobi, Minjibir, Rano, Tarauni and Wudil.

“A total of 22 members of the House of Assembly resigned their membership from the NNPP in the state,” the statement said, adding that the Assembly had verified and authenticated the list of the lawmakers.
