Chief Reuben Wilson, UNIUYO Governing Council Members Visit Gov. Umo Eno


The People's General and member of the Governing Council of the University of Uyo, Chief Reuben Wilson, alongside other members of the council and the newly inaugurated Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Christopher Ekong, have paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno.


The delegation was received by Governor Umo Eno at the Government House in Uyo, where discussions centered on the development of tertiary education and strengthening collaboration between the Akwa Ibom State Government and the University of Uyo.


Speaking during the visit, the governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting educational institutions and creating an enabling environment for academic excellence and research.


Prof. Christopher Ekong, who was recently inaugurated as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, expressed appreciation to the governor for his support and goodwill towards the institution, while pledging to work with relevant stakeholders to advance the university's mandate.


Chief Reuben Wilson and other members of the Governing Council commended Governor Umo Eno for his developmental strides in Akwa Ibom State and stressed the importance of sustained partnership between government and higher institutions to promote quality education and human capital development.


The visit underscored the shared commitment of the state government and the University of Uyo leadership to fostering academic growth, innovation and socio-economic development in Akwa Ibom State and the country at large.
