​BAYELSA OK MOVEMENT INAUGURATED, MOBILIZATION FOR 2027 GAINS MOMENTUM

Massive turnout signals growing grassroots engagement for the Obi-Kwankwaso movement in Bayelsa State

The Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement has officially been inaugurated in Bayelsa State, marking another significant step in the movement's expanding grassroots structure and political mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration brought together a broad coalition of stakeholders, including women, youths, students, political leaders, supporters and other citizens committed to the vision of a New Nigeria.

Representing the National Director-General, Hon. John Ughulu, and the South South Zonal Coordinator, Amb. Christopher Ighodaro, at the occasion was the National Director for Mobilisation and Outreach, Rev. Victor Ekam.

The presence of the national leadership underscored the importance attached to strengthening the movement's structures across the South South region and particularly in Bayelsa State.

Bayelsa Delivers a Strong Grassroots Statement

As the home state of the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, Bayelsa presented a remarkable display of political enthusiasm and grassroots organization during the inauguration.

The turnout was described as a powerful demonstration of the determination of supporters who refused to be discouraged by political challenges and instead turned out in large numbers to identify with the movement.

Women arrived in their distinctive colours, while youths, students and various community groups joined the gathering, creating a colourful and energetic atmosphere around the inauguration.

The scale of participation demonstrated the growing interest in the movement's message and its ambition to establish a strong grassroots presence across Bayelsa State.

NDC Candidates and Executives Mobilize for 2027

Candidates of the NDC were also present at the inauguration, alongside members of the newly established executive structure.

The executives were charged with deepening their grassroots engagement, strengthening mobilization structures and ensuring sustained interaction with communities across the state.

The broader objective is to build an effective political structure capable of mobilizing support for His Excellencies Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside other NDC candidates, as the country approaches the 2027 elections.

The leadership emphasized the importance of organization, community engagement and sustained political participation as essential components of any successful electoral campaign.

Building the New Nigeria Project

The Bayelsa inauguration also reflected the wider aspiration of supporters who believe that Nigeria requires a new direction in governance, leadership and national development.
