“A New Direction for Rivers State”
Issued by the Office of the Head of Media, Northern Team, OK Movement
Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu
The Obi/Kwankwaso OK Movement is set to officially flag off its Rivers State Chapter as the movement continues to strengthen its grassroots structures and mobilise Nigerians around its vision for national renewal, accountable leadership and a better future for the country.
The Rivers State chapter will hold its official flag-off under the theme:
“A New Direction for Rivers State”
The event is scheduled as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 5 August 2026
Time: 12:00 noon prompt
Venue: Shakers Place, by 1st Artillery Junction, Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The occasion represents another important step in the ongoing expansion of the OK Movement's structures across Nigeria and provides an opportunity for citizens, supporters, stakeholders and members of the public to come together and identify with the movement's vision.

The official OK Movement describes itself as a coordinated nationwide movement focused on systemic reform and national rebirth, with structures across Nigeria built around the principles of integrity, unity, courage and service. Its leadership framework is anchored on the 5 Cs of OK Leadership: Character, Competence, Compassion, Capacity and Commitment.
A MOVEMENT FOR NATIONAL REBIRTH
The Rivers State flag-off comes at a time when the OK Movement is deepening its grassroots presence and building a coordinated network of citizens across the federation.
The movement's stated mandate is to work towards a Nigeria where justice is a right rather than a privilege, economic stability creates shared prosperity, and peace is supported by decisive and accountable leadership. Its vision is centred on a united and prosperous Nigeria, bringing together Nigerians around the political partnership of His Excellency Peter Obi and His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The establishment and activation of state structures are therefore not simply ceremonial exercises. They are part of a broader organisational effort to take the movement's message directly to communities and create opportunities for citizens to participate in the national conversation.
RIVERS STATE: A NEW CHAPTER
For Rivers State, the flag-off presents an opportunity for citizens who share the movement's ideals to come together, organise and contribute to the conversation about the future of the state and Nigeria.
The theme, “A New Direction for Rivers State,” reflects the emphasis on purposeful organisation, responsible citizenship and leadership that responds to the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.
The OK Movement's national structure places particular emphasis on rejecting divisions based on ethnicity, religion and region, while promoting unity and collective responsibility.
It is within this spirit that the Rivers State Chapter is being formally introduced to the public.
INVITATION TO NIGERIANS AT HOME AND ABROAD
On behalf of the Office of the Head of Media, Northern Team, OK Movement, I extend an open invitation to Nigerians, residents of Rivers State, members of the diaspora, civil society stakeholders, professionals, youths, community leaders and all well-meaning citizens to follow and support the official activities of the Rivers State Chapter.
The OK Movement has consistently positioned participation, volunteerism, community engagement and grassroots mobilisation as central to its work. Its official platform provides opportunities for citizens, including Nigerians in the diaspora, to volunteer, support activities and participate in the movement's growing network.
The movement believes that the task of rebuilding Nigeria cannot be left to a handful of individuals. It requires citizens who are prepared to organise, participate, demand accountability and contribute positively to the country's future.
THE ROAD TO 2027
As Nigeria moves towards the 2027 general elections, the OK Movement continues to develop its national and state structures around the political vision of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The movement's official platform presents the two principals as central figures in its national rebirth agenda, with emphasis on leadership, unity, competence, service and measurable outcomes.
For the OK Movement, the objective is not merely to create political visibility. It is to build an organised, disciplined and people-powered structure capable of engaging Nigerians from the grassroots upward.
The Rivers State flag-off is therefore another milestone in that continuing process.
